Software Donation Guidelines
VERITAS donates Backup Exec software on a quarterly basis. All organizations designated under 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code and/or educational institutions are eligible to apply for a software donation.
Software Donation Deadlines
Q1-Software donation proposals must be received by February 15
Q2-Software donation proposals must be received by April 30
Q3-Software donation proposals must be received by July 31
Q4 Software donation proposals must be received by October 31

Software Donation Restrictions
* Donations will not be made for political or religious purposes
* Donations will not be made to organizations that discriminate on the basis of age, disability, religion, ethnic origin, sex or sexual orientation
* Donations will not be made to individuals
* The VERITAS Foundation will not promote or fund any organization whose direct or indirect actions negatively impact VERITAS Software, the company, or the software industry as a whole
The Software Donation Proposal
A representative of the requesting organization must complete the following information.
# 1. Contact Organization Name of Organization
# Contact Name & Title
# Address, Telephone & Fax
# Email/Website
# 2. Background Mission of your organization
# The needs your organization works to address
# Specifically describe how you will utilize our software to benefit your organization
# 3. Software Recommendation Information List requested VERITAS software products
# List which operating system(s) are running in your environment (i.e. Sun, HP, Windows)
# List the servers in your environment: Manufacturer, Model and Operating System
# Whata is the manufacturer and model of your backup device?
# Which above listed server is your backup device attached to? If multiple, please list.
# Is your backup device a single tape drive or library? If library, list number of drives.
# Which databases are running in your environment? List the servers they are running on.
# Which server is your e-mail server? Which e-mail application is it running on?
# 4. Attachments Proof of nonprofit status (a copy of IRS 501c3 letter or equivalent)
