Internal Calendar Sharing
Submitted by IreriRivas on January 27, 2009 - 3:59pm.
My organization has three offices in different cities and we want to be able to efficiently share our calendars with each other. Some staff has outlook, but others do not and some have macs and others pcs. Is there anything besides google calendars that works for internal sharing of our calendars?

Is there a reason you don't want to use google calendar?
I'm wondering if there's a reason you don't want to use google calendar? Also, we need a bit more info - what calendar system are people currently using: paper? Outlook? Entourage? Apple's iCal?
one other thing to consider
life with folks on different platforms is inherently difficult to manage. I'd seriously consider setting a baseline for operating system and client, make clear that everyone in the organization needs to use that OS and client, and make clear that you won't support anything else - that people will be on their own for other systems.
That might sound drastic, but our economic climate dictates a streamlining of systems and a requirement that we increase our internal efficiency. In my opinion, supporting multiple systems is inefficient unless there are clear "business" reasons why you need to do that.
Small business Server
You can do it with microsoft's small business server's exchange calendar. It's quite a bit more of a technical set up, but it works well once it's in place. TechSoup.org has cheap copies of sbs2007. Warning, SBS2007 requires two servers!
Airset
Check out airset.com. We have used it and I use it personally to share calendars among family. It allows you to synch with Outlook but is also web based.
I love it.
